David A. Black announced on ruby-talk the date and location of the 2007 RubyConf

On behalf of Ruby Central, Inc., I’m very happy to announce the seventh International Ruby Conference:

RubyConf 2007
November 2-4, 2007
Omni Charlotte Hotel
Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Stay tuned for announcements about registration, talk proposals, and hotel arrangements.

A few logistical things:

  • Registration will be $250 for the whole event. (There’s no no-food discount this year.)
  • The hotel is offering us a rate of $109 plus tax per night (and it’s a nice hotel!).
  • We’re looking for sponsors! Please contact me if interested.

The usual comments:

  • When will the International RubyConf be held someplace other than the USA? (I was hoping for Toronto or Montreal this year …)
  • In how many hours will it sell out?
  • Does James even want to go?
  • Would focusing on regional conferences be more valuable/educational?
