It's amazing what bad writing can do to a show. The miniseries and first two seasons of BSG were very, very good (until the last episode, anyway). Unfortunately, season three has pretty much wrecked any hope I had for this show after the debacle of New Caprica. Between the incessant Apollo/Starbuck/Anders love triangle, generally episodic nature of this season, inconsistent character behavior in general, and the IDIOTIC plot twist in the last 2 episodes, I'm afraid I have to say goodbye to this show forever.
For the first two seasons you definitely got the vibe that they had a story arc planned out in advance. In reality, however, Ronald Moore and the writing crew admitted to making major decisions *this season*. In effect, they're winging it, and the results suck.
