This past Phoenix Ruby Users Group had an outstanding presentation by Jinesh Varia, evangelist for Amazon Web Services, about AWS.

The talk did not feature much Ruby code, but there are numerous projects, both commercial and personal, out there using Ruby + AWS. Nonetheless, the content was fascinating because Jinesh made it easy to understand how one can wire up the various services using your favorite Ruby tools and libs.

They are already multiple libraries for S3, and at least two for EC2 (1, 2).
