One of the most popular out-of-print board games is Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage. It was first published in 1996 and went out of print around 2000, I believe. For some reason, this game became wildy popular *after* it was already out of print, and it has become very difficult to get ahold of ever since. Most copies on eBay go for anywhere from $150 to $250. I kid you not.

I say, "for some reason", but I've actually played this game a few times and it is a very good game. The Eurogamers love it because it's relatively simple and short, while the casual wargamers love it for the card driven mechanic, a cool theme, a neat but simple tactical system, and just enough depth to make it interesting. It's largely considered to be the best CDG of all time.

The company Valley Games recently announced that they will be reprinting this game, taking preorders some time soon. You can bet your sweet arse I'll be snagging a copy...or two. :)
