Original Post: Mac Heist
Feed Title: Obie On Rails (Has It Been 9 Years Already?)

Feed Description: Obie Fernandez talks about life as a technologist, mostly as ramblings about software development and consulting. Nowadays it's pretty much all about Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
"Oh, shit!" Update: An article at well-known blog daringfireball casts this deal in a whole different light and makes the name MacHeist sound awfully ironic. Allegedly, the independent developers behind the great software below are getting a pretty raw deal, by only getting a flat fee for their participation. If MacHeist reaches their goal of $100,000 for charity, they will keep a stunning 71% of the profits gained. I encourage everyone to send a message of protest to sales@macheist.com.
I just bought a Mac Heist software bundle for $49. It includes licenses for the following shareware Mac applications:
Delicious Library, that media library program that uses your camera as a barcode reader.
FotoMagico, for really nice slideshow creations
ShapeShifter, theme management
DevonThink, personal information manager
Disco, that disc burning app with the smoke
RapidWeaver, website editor
iClip4, fancy clipboard
a Pangea game (sweet grafx)
NewsFire, RSS reader
TextMate, the ultimate text editor
Best of all, a big chunk of the proceeds go to charity and they've raised over $80,000 already. Check it out -- might make sense for you if you own a Mac or know someone that does.
