Feed Description: Obie Fernandez talks about life as a technologist, mostly as ramblings about software development and consulting. Nowadays it's pretty much all about Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
After more than a year of leading non-stop Rails projects at ThoughtWorks, I'm excited to announce that I will be teaching a Ruby on Rails TDD Bootcamp, right here in my hometown of Atlanta, GA on December 11th through 14th.
As a student, you will build a Rails application, learning Test-Driven Development from beginning to end. Topics include an introduction to Ruby, a thorough discussion of Test-Driven Development, and an in-depth exploration of the Rails framework, including the final day focused on using AJAX with Rails. My emphasis will be on communicating practical Rails knowledge that you need in order to succeed. Most of the course involves intense, hands-on learning, giving you the opportunity to encounter realistic obstacles and familiarize yourself with the fast-paced and unique rhythm of Rails development.
Interested? One of our distinguishing factors is that we're purposely limiting the class size to only about a dozen people. Also, for some of you this might be your last chance to spend any remaining 2006 training budget! Sign up soon.
Also, I am on leave for the next couple of months, in order to finish writing my book. Subject to limited availability, you may book me to train your team on-location. Email Obtiva for more details.
