Focus on Ruby technologies to augment the SL experience
Explore techniques for virtual learning & collaboration in SL
Meet people with similar interests
We intend to meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM Pacific Time inside Second Life. We have a dedicated conference area for use by the group. The area was donated by Joi Ito of Internet fame.
How do I join Second Life and The Rubyists of SL Group?
Basic memberships in Second Life are currently free.
There are hefty bandwidth / computer hardware / graphics card requirements for SL, check http://www.secondlife.com for more details.
After downloading the Client, and creating your Avatar, you can use this Second Life URL ( SLurl ) to ?teleport? to the Rubyists of Second Life meeting area
The RoSL group members will help you get acclimated to Second Life. Contact avatar StarJunky Fermi at starjunky@gmail.com to arrange for an introductory tour of SL.
There is also an active Linux Users Group in SL, with a Linux SL Client in Alpha testing.
