I recently rented "Howl's Moving Castle" and "March of the Penguins".

Howl's Moving Castle is a very creative film, like all of Miyazaki's work, and it's fun to watch. Unfortunately, the story line is muddled, and it never really comes together. None of the relationships between the major characters is adequately explained. Maybe you're just supposed to enjoy the ride. It might be a fun role playing universe - a sort of 19th century genre, laced with magic and odd machinery.

March of the Penguins is a great film for nature lovers. If you like watching the Discovery Channel, I guarantee you will like this film. The DVD comes with some good extras, too, including a long segment about the making of the movie. The two men who did all the filming got themselves into serious trouble at one point when they lingered too long in a storm and required rescuing, but not before they suffered some injury that put them out of action for a while.
