It turns out that the POSIX issues Mike Clark referred to in his talk related to the 'termios' package, not Unix shell commands. Well, hey, Mike wasn't clear on this issue, mmkay? Sue me.

Anyway, I'm not really sure why we need termios at all. We're just copying files around, right? I suppose tty echo is nice, but it shouldn't be required. Am I missing something?

James Edward Gray II dealt with this in his HighLine package by simply not using it where it wasn't supported.
