Feed Description: Obie Fernandez talks about life as a technologist, mostly as ramblings about software development and consulting. Nowadays it's pretty much all about Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
By our best estimates, over 90% of the 550 people at RailsConf 2006 are using Apple laptops. We decided to reward those willing to take a stand against the norm and compute different.
The Noncomformist Photoset from RailsConf 2006 is one of the funniest things (IMHO) from the conference. My editor Deb, was one of those non-comformists. BTW, I think a lot of them deserved that "thank you" from Linus, and not Bill.
But anyway, I'm so glad that Deb was there. One of my personal coolest memories is the time spent conversing with Deb, Martin Fowler and _why late into the night on Saturday. Don't even remember all the diverse topics that were discussed (although some stand out!), but it was certainly a precious moment.
