Some time ago I discovered Gmails wap interface on m.gmail.com. It has really been a life saver in situations where I didn't have access to the net. The pages are broken down to smaller units and are generally easy to navigate.
On a totally different level my mobile data transfer bill has skyrocketed. I'm on Orange UK and I actually use more money on bandwith than on text messages and talk. Orange has something called Orange World Access. I get 1mb free data transfer each month, but it's really not enough for me. I think the network operators need to lower the fence a bit for getting net access. At the moment it's prohibitively expensive.
