Things have changed in RDT 0.8.0 with regards to setting your tab indentation level. Actually, they changed around 0.7.0 or so, when RDT seemed to start ignoring my settings altogether. But, in 0.8.0, the old preference option is gone.

Instead, you now have to create a new "Formatter", give it a name, and *then* it takes you to a screen let lets you set the indentation level. Then you have to make sure you're actually using your new formatter, close any existing Ruby documents you may have had open, and reopen them for the new formatter to take effect. Perhaps most annoyingly, this isn't documented in the Help section. I merely fumbled around in the editor settings until I found it.

Sigh. I suppose I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that, as the RDT folks have done a very good job overall, so I can put up with a bit of Ivory Tower Construction at the cost of simplicity.

For now.
