When preparing Jim Freeze's recent DSL article for Ruby Code & Style, there was a discussion among Bill Venners, myself, and (some of) the RC&S advisory board.
Bill has a short article about DSLs up on Artima.com, with some interesting comments about what, exactly, is a DSL; here's one that caught my eye:
When Isaac talks about Smalltalk, we're talking about turtles all the way down. Half the time, when the ruby folks talk about DSLs, they're only talking about APIs that happen to not have parentheses.
