Do most Ruby programmer's just never run with -w (warnings)? It seems that I often download code from RAA/RubyForge that generates warnings with -w. This happens much more often than when I download Perl modules from CPAN and run with -w.

When you recommend Ruby, RAA, and RubyForge to a colleague, and the first two libraries they download spew warnings all over the place with warnings turned on, well, it doesn't generate a lot of confidence in the maturity of the language and primary repositories. It's kind of a shame really.
