From this day forth, the name Calibre is an acronym. It stand for California Library for Ruby Enthusiasts. I have just release a new version of the complete pacakge v1.2.0. And there's a spiffy new website too.

Along with this comes the final word on Facets: it includes extension methods ONLY. Which is better anyway since Facets stands for, if you did not already know, Fantastic Atomic Core Extensions. I've just release a new version of this too v1.1.0. It's website has been updated too reflect the new status too.

Check out the sites here:

www.calibre.rubyforge.org
www.facets.rubyforge.org

Expect Nitro to pick up on these new versions in its next release (v0.30).

I tried with great effort to keep these two large libs merged into a single project (Facets). But it simply proved too unweildy. The difficulties mostly arose from setup.rb and RubyGems, how the former handles multi-projects and how the later does not, throw in a a dash of CVS annoyances, and one is finally led to the neccessity of two separate projects. My apologies for taking so long to solidify this. I know it has caused some tedious work of changing require statements as I when back and forth between approaches. You can finally be assured that this is the last.

I'm still planning to offer all the Calibre modules as independently installable packages for those who only wish to use a one or two portions of the whole. But I have to rework how those packages are generated, so updates to this packages will have to what a bit yet.

Finally, I just got to say, "Whew!"
