Oh happy day. At RubyConf, while searching for algorithms for generational garbage collection for dynamic languages, I stumbled across ’Google Scholar’ which appears to be a Google-ified Citeseer.

Mostly everything I know about computer science I learned from finding interesting topics and then following citation-trails around on Citeseer. I have a 5 Gb directory full of PDFs of research papers on natural language topics that apply to things I’m working on for FaerieMUD, most of which were found via Citeseer.

Cheers, Google, for another excellent idea.
