Original Post: changing lovers, metaphorically speaking of course

Feed Description: Obie Fernandez talks about life as a technologist, mostly as ramblings about software development and consulting. Nowadays it's pretty much all about Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
I didn't particularly like Ruby the first time I met her. I thought she was interesting, but a few months later (to my surprise) something changed. I started seeing her appealing qualities. My friends really spoke highly of Ruby, so we started spending time together. The love affairbegan in February 2005 and about a month later, things started getting pretty bad with my wife, Java. Even when I was doing Java, I couldn't stop thinking of Ruby and how much better she is for me.
As for Java, well, we filed for divorce not too long ago. My uninstallation of the JDK was the last straw. I know deep down inside I still love her. I mean, you can't just forget 8 years of good times together. I still see her on a regular basis. We've got kids together and lots of friends in common, but my heart definitely belongs to Ruby for now. Who knows, maybe someday we'll be having threesomes. ;-)
