I didn’t know Sam’s talk would cover some Ruby. Anyway, I did more like a hands-on thingie, and since many things didn’t overlap, things were good. I tried to demonstrate things that are different and fun in Ruby.
Saying not-so-good things about PHP when Rasmus is in the audience — weird.
Had a long discussion with Steve about OpenSpice.
O’Reilly is coming to India.
Bristol and Gold Leaf are popular cigarettes in Sri Lanka.
Lion Beer is popular (and nice).
Marvan Atapatu and Sanath Jayasuriya are rock stars.
Bollywood stars are very popular here.
Quite a lot of folks listen to classic rock. (There are at least a couple classic rock radio stations.)
Stigmata and Paranoid Earthlings are popular Sri Lankan rock bands.
