The new Google Web Accelerator has some interesting side effects. Like clicking all the links on a page, and ignoring any JavaScript confirmation code even if that link should trigger something bad.

People get uptight about GET for lots of reasons. Seems like a pedantic nitpick, doesn't it? One reason is that proper use of GET is required for intermediaries to operate effectively. Google Web Accelerator considered overzealous? No, Backpack breaks the interface constraints that allow the Web to function. If you're going to do RPC, have the courtesy to tunnel it through POST.

In a nutshell: GET should have no side-effects. Use POST to change things.
