Ok, I couldn't help myself. I had a copy of Mandrake 10 laying around, so I decided to try and replace my Suse 8 install with what I hoped would be a nicer, shinier version of Linux. The result was laughable. The installer actually locked the system early in the installation phase. I couldn't even do a warm reboot. I had to flip the power switch! Absolutely, completely pathetic.
I also tried installing BeOS Max edition. No luck there, either. It starts to boot, then just gives me a blank screen. Lame.
A while back I tried to install SyllableOS on this machine. BZZT!
What does that leave? I've been wanting to give SkyOS a try, but I'm waiting for the 5.0 "final" edition before I even dare attempt it. The only other option is Solaris 10 for x86, but I hear the installer isn't dual-boot friendly, and I don't really feel like wiping out my Windows XP Partition.
