One of the people who wrote the position paper on compound documents that I referred to earlier writes about it some on his blog. Sadly, their position paper doesn't seem to be the norm for the workshop on compound documents (all attendees were asked to write a position paper beforehand -- seems like a very good way to run a workshop).

There's also many other position papers from other companies. I'll have to read through more of them.
