After reading the original posting of  RMS' vision for GNU, I was flipping through the unix wizards archives and was did a double take: posts from Python's BDFL. Now following up to blog about it, I find that post not quite newsworthy, but did a search to find the "'Stamp Out BASIC' Committee" tagline [link] and note on C's introspection tool entries procured a smirk.  Stamping out BASIC is spelled out here.
