Thanks to the folks at Piranha on Riccarton Road for inviting me in and giving me a crash course in coffee evaluation. The new owners (since November) seem to really be into their coffee; Dave and Peter have apparently trained many of the top local baristas. I now have a bit more of an appreciation of what's required to make a good coffee - and what mistakes to look for when other people are making coffee for me. I'll be a real reviewer one day :-)
