It looks like cellphone plans are incredibly cheap in the USA. Here in New Zealand I pay Vodafone NZ$0.50 per minute off peak and NZ$1.50 per minute during the daytime. That's on a prepay plan, though. I don't think we have any plans that are anything like what Matt gets -- the most expensive plan you can get here is Daytime 750, which has 750 anytime minutes for the low low price of NZ$275/month. We don't have "unlimited nights and weekends" plans, so those 750 minutes have to cover that too. If you don't call during the day, it's not quite as bad: Get 300 gets you 300 off-peak minutes for $40. It's $0.99/minute during the daytime, though.
