I sense a variation on Zawinski's Law http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/Z/Zawinskis-Law.html brewing: Every Java program attempts to expand until it is an application framework. Once so expanded, it shall be replaced by one which is not, but wishes it were. Maybe this can be called the Law of Megalithic Vacuous Classterfscks, to backronym their gospel.
I saw a relatively simple project using JBoss which took longer to boot the application server than the operating system. Oh, and I don't include the lame little project, either.
