Yes, simple carbohydrates (sugars) are one of the main reasons for excess fat. But the all the rage now is to make it look as if it is the only reason.
A good balanced diet helps you curb your cravings for more food. You could have a protein deficiency, or it can be some micronutrient.
The total amount of calories and the quality of each component is key. There are bad proteins with toxic by-products, there are bad fats causing with well known problems to the heart, and there are bad carbohydrates.
This new fad about "bad carbohydrates" started with the fad of the Atkins diet. A very bad fad, go google what happened.
