Here is some more proof that MIDP2.0 wil be mainstream amoung both end users and J2ME application sales channels in the 2005-2006 time frame in an article about the ROHM BU8899GU sound chip that support 4 channels of sound with MIDP2.0 api support. Its already deployed in SH505i and F505i i-mode phones in Japan.
