There are a couple of new proposals over at eclipse.org.
The Data Tools Project
(DTP) is a proposed open-source Top Level Project of eclipse.org. The
Charter will describe the organization of the project, roles and responsibilities
of the participants, and top-level development process for the project.
The Eclipse Desktop Technology Integration
Technology Project will focus on research and demonstrable enhancement of the Eclipse
Platform and supplemental technologies to accomplish the following objectives:
Enable the Eclipse Platform to employ optional platform-specific services and
technologies in its general operation and provide extension points and APIs for developer
use and customization.
Enable Eclipse-based services to be registered, launched, and accessed natively
by non-Eclipse client applications using platform-specific mechanisms.
Interesting projects. Eclipse seems to be growing into a monster. :-)
