predicted for the next 5 years until 2007 according to this InfoSyncWorld article. What it is important to note is not only the 2 billion in subscribers by 2007 but also what part of the world the growth is occuring in the next 5 years.

Basically large growth areas in those countires and geographical locations making the transition from Third World to major developing nations. In other words every area except USA and Western Europe. This is why I sepnt so much time on making sure I had the correct localization and internationalization strategy for my J2ME applications.
