I sat in on this session last week. It was interesting and informative. Btw, my first question was moderated and taken out of context. The question was asked before the chat officially started "Why the sky was blue". Trying to be funny I asked "Why are repaint freezes gray?". My Swing humor got delayed and ended up as a question. I actually knew why repaint freezes were gray before the chat =).

Scott Violet (Swing architect) and Chet Haase hosted an online chat last Tuesday (February 15th) on performance. As the transcript shows, they touched on many topics, including Longhorn, SwingWorker as official API, acceleration work in progress, and grey rectangles (as of 6.0+, you might never see one again!).
