Finally i am holding it in my hands, the new Spring book "Pro Spring" by Rob Harrop. Of course there was only the time to do a quick browsing yet but i have allready seen some very interessting chapters in there like "Spring Sheduling with Quartz" or "Spring Remoting". I am missing a Spring JDO chapter, but Spring Live covers this topic quite good. If you only have Pro Spring, just check out the hibernate section, the approaches are quite similar.

Its my first Apress book and i like it. A lot of stuff to read about. Perhaps a little bit too much code here and there but ok. Hopefully the Manning book on Spring also make it the next days, these together with Spring Live and J2EE without EJB should be a good foundation for my work with Spring ;-)

Once again i am missing OReilly in the list of Spring publishers. I think OReilly is missing out some oppurtunities here and there. I can remember when PHP was allready a big success in the market and OReilly needed about 2 years to ship a book on it. In Contrast, Manning and Apress seems to be very ressponsive to the java market.

I allready spend thousands of dollars per year for books and if the human being could read faster than he actually can, i would buy even more.
