In the course of my rewriting the gameEngine code of MoonBuzz and the 2D game framework in the game code; I have forgotten to check of DoubledBuffered. Why does this matter?

Because Nokia handsets implement the J2ME MIDP in a way that its always DoubledBuffered. Bascially my code for non DoubleBuffered handsets stays the same, to implement handset specific code for those handsets that are doublebuffered which is Nokia at the moment need to do if logic checking isDoubledBuffered.
