Today I ran into an interesting SWT issue. I have some code that allows you to reorder columns and change their visibility. Behind the scenes TableColumn's are disposed and recreated. The columns are also sortable and have up and down arrow images set in their headers reflecting this state. The problem was that once a column had been sorted it would not dispose properly due to the image. I tried the obvious of setImage(null) but the error still persisted. Finally, I tried reversing the disposing of the columns from the last column to the first and everything worked flawlessly. I haven't had a chance to dig into the internals to see what is actually causing the issue in SWT. I'm guessing there is some sort of list that is having its indexes mutated similar to removing items from a ArrayList incorrectly.
