Fisheye Menus
We are investigating techniques to support selection of an item from a long linear list. This issue comes up for data-driven applications, such as e-commerce on the Web where a user must select a country, state, city, service, etc. The primary technique we are looking at is the application of fisheye views to linear lists.

Definitely slick looking. If I ever get some free time I'll have to figure out how to implement this.
