Well here is the Desktop Java Live Christmas Week Update. The Layout Manager and GUI Builder chapters will be off to copy edit tonight after a final glance. All and all I think they turned out pretty well. The Spring Rich addition to the GUI Builders chapter weaved in quite nicely. What was scheduled to be one chapter and 30 pages will ultimately be 80+ pages and two chapters.

I'll also be reorganizing things slightly tonight. Since I've added another chapter I'm going to modify the TOC to reflect this fact. I've also settled on writing an RSS reader for Desktop Java Live's sample application. As a result I'm going to reorder the TOC to better fit this plan. At the moment I'm going to stick with writing the first 5 chapters as independent core concept chapters. The middle chapters on validation, testing, communications etc will be modifed to include the common theme of the sample application. After the 1.0 release in April, I may go back and tie the sample application into the first 5 chapters. I'll probably post a draft of the reorganization up for comments tomorrow.
