Graham Hamilton talks about the J2SE 5.0 and future of Java. I appreciate him saying "I suspect that the Java language will be good for another 20 to 30 years if we are careful in managing its evolution."

The threat as of now, he feels, is the shortcuts to the implementation of specifications by vendors. That should be avoided to make sure Java REMAINS protable.
