There is a blog post up on Java.net about a new Windows look and feel based on the UxTheme API. This is the the API Microsoft uses for its look and feel of Windows XP versus Classic for instance. Assuming future Windows XP theming products use this API the changes should trickle down to Swing. I originally thought from the post that the builds using this technology were already up. However after not being able to see any LAF differences in the one I downloaded. I emailed, Bino George. He said that Java 6.0 builds would have the UxTheme code next week. Check back and I'll put of screenshots. I'm looking forward to see Windows XP skinned Swing.
