Last night being the end of the week and with Top Gear being knocked back due to the final of the Snooker, we decided to bring together our XBOX's for a geek fest of big screen Halo2 action.
Using the XBOX System Link is a breeze, just throw a network cable into the back of your consoles and they find one another and before too long you'll be killing one another on the comfort of your own screen.
We have a projector for various presentations etc, but it also doubles as a very good home-cinema setup. We don't have a traditional white screen, so we just throw it against the wall and the results are stunning. The photo here is taken in a dark room with the projector taking up most of the wall.
Andy was on the very large screen and I was on the television. Due to a lack of long leads I was the only one that had sound, he was firing in the silence! It proved to be quite an interesting dynamic to add to the battle ground. Although he was well within ear shot to hear my sound from my TV.
Halo2 was fun. Lots of nice wee touches to it from the original but nothing that would make me standup and say WOW. Maybe I am missing something, not sure. Piloting the new flying vehicles takes a lot of effort and is usually an excellent position to be killed from!
