This could be very interesting if done correctly. I'll admit I've never been a big fan of UML. In most cases I was forced to create it for some business level documentation. However, I've recently been reconsidering my opinions about its usefulness. I've found myself thinking "UML would be useful here" a couple of times lately working on the ClientJava.com resource directory. The persistence layer is going to be built using Hibernate. As a result I've been mapping domain objects using XDoclet. I keep coming back to the idea that it would be easier just to "draw" my objects and then generate them at least on the first pass. I've glanced at the Hibernate website and it looks like there are a few options in this area. If anyone has practical exprience going down this road, I'd be intersted to see what you found.
