I appreciate Cameron's comments about Microsoft marketing a lot, and I
think he's got a very good point in this: companies and people always
complain about MSFT's marketing strategies, with all that FUD, vendor
lock-in and stuff like that. I'd say I'm OK with it. If they're smart
enough to notice what they can do with their multibillionaire company's
marketing department, and they're using it to get more customers, and
they're not doing anything illegal (I'd consider it antiethic, though),
it's OK, power to them. Now that Linux (and by extension, all
OpenSource software) is being treated by Microsoft as their 2nd biggest
threat, we know we (the Open Source software movement) are doing a good
job.
