Once agina SCO Group attempts to attach their product to Linux success by offering FUD according to this Techworld article. They will allow you to use Linux if you buy their product license, Fuck you McBride!

Fact, 2 owners of copyrights on System V code; SCO Group and BSD Lite(hackers by early 1990s court case settlement before court case judgment).

Fact, Unix trademark is owned by opengroup.oirg. Fact, revenues from previous licenses are still tunred over in terms of 90% to Novell. The major reason for SCO Group to redo the Sun license was to get new revenue as the other revenue was going to Novell in terms of 90% of the revenue.

Fact, code that is the same or similar to other code in very different operating systems does not proove copyright infringement occurred. There have been numerous court cases rulling on this fact in the PC arena during the 1980s to 1990s time span. Remember only IBM had access to SCO code and only SCO group had access to this SCO Group code.

Fact, SCO Group does not own patnets on Unix; Novell has this honor the whole basis of why Novell is still collecting 90% on licenses entered into existence before the sale of copyrights to SCO Group.

Sun and Microsoft chose to support SCO Group's FUD and they wil find that a very costly proposition both in moeny and pr once SCO Group is humbled by IBM in court. Was it worth it SUN and Microsoft to support this FUD?
