I would like to point you to a very thoughtful blog entry on the current state of UDDI at Loosely Coupled Weblog A very critical observation in The Atom End Game on the role of standards body - they should only be defining standards. Their job is to tabulate what works and what doesn't. Their job is not invention. The JSR for Business Rules (I am sorry I don't intend to remember the JSR No., please google it) should better keep that in mind.
