If you read the middle of this post on Rob Gingell's comments concerning an email debate amoung SUN field engineers, it would seem that Rob Gingell may be a voice of sanity at SUN. While SUN may never embrace the IP righhts of opensource for java, I do agree with Rob Gingell that it would be in Sun's best interest to invest and accept the opensource development process within the core of java.

So my question to Rob Gingell is what infromation on the open source development process od you need to assist you and SUN in determining if proceeding towards an opensource develpment strategy for java is appriopriate?
