Being JSP-based, it's pretty easy to add custom functionality to a Pebble theme although this can mean using messy scriptlets or building new JSP tags. Then, of course, you have to make sure that this same functionality is replicated in the HTML and XML newsfeed views. So, for Pebble 1.6 I've made a few changes here and there and I'm introducing a simple plugin API.
