I like to lay my gui's out manually. This looks worth a look if you don't however. It has an extensive list of features.

JFormDesigner 1e00 ™ is an easy-to-use, powerful and fast visual Java GUI designer for Swing. JFormDesigner is currently under development. Its release as commercial product is expected for September 2004. A beta version is now available to interested parties.

SwingWork
I like XWork. I can see the possibilities of building Swing applications on top of it.

The SwingWork project is intended to be a Swing implementation of the XWork framework. Designed around the MVC architechture, SwingWork will provide a framework similar to WebWork, but for the client side environment. SwingWork will provide a framework for data input and validation, as well as standard outputs.

SwingWT
I was doing some SWT threading research for the book outline and ran across this again.

SwingWT is a 100% pure Java library which aims to be a free implementation of Swing and AWT. Unlike Swing, it drives native peer widgets for your platform from SWT.
