You may be wondering why my MonBuzz J2ME game is being developed in
specific methodical slow process. Let me explain.
About half the
work is preparing and coding a 2D game eninge framework to use on lal J2ME
games. Another 25% of work is spent on trackign down bugs in different
versions of MIDP1.0 amoung handset vendors to ensure portability.
Another 25% is spent making sure I am fully aware of the what is possible
and what is not possible on mobile devices using J2ME MIDP1.0, J2ME
MIDP1.0+closed APIs, and J2ME MIDP 2.0 so that I can prevent
what has happen to buglord. I do not ever want to get caughgt promising
features or ports that will never be completed to the end user or the
mobile network operators.
In the next game devlopment process I wil
only be spending 1.5 months or less in full game development because of
this hard work and methodical development. Not ot mention the fact that
porting the 2nd game will happen in a week per handset vendor. All this
hard work will show up in the maximization of revenue from sales channels
in small time periods rather than a large time period of game development.
I can then use that revenue to support a longer development time on 3D
games once the rtesearch and development on 3d game enigine is complete.
