I was at Home Depot over the weekend and the line at the self service kiosks was 15 deep and there was only one other checkout station open. Meanwhile, customers are fumbling with items that can't easily be scanned and bogging the whole system down. I complained to the store manager and he was just as frustrated as I was, even admitting that their sales actually decrease when they push customers to the self-service.
