I'll slightly modify a job interview question I heard from a friend:Given a set of random points in the plane, how many of them are colinear?There are two worthwhile classes of answers, in my mind. I'll post them later, but I'll entertain guesses in the meantime. And, while I'm at it, here's another classic:Why are manhole covers round? Are there other shapes that would be suitable or even preferable?
