From my original perspective as a native Oregonian and an adoptive Bay Area Californian, Chicago summers were oppressively hot and humid, but the last couple - and this one in particular - have been pleasant. (I don't mind the cold.) Maybe the past hundred years have been a fluke and Chicago is really a pleasant place after all?One way or another, the thunderstorms still keep things interesting.The interesting thing about that picture is that was taken at sunset just before a big storm, looking east.
