Cedric in s his bumbling way has once again attemtpted to spread some FUD as fact in his post about RMS. Lets debunk the unfactual points, shall we?

First lets discuss the difference between GNU, a kernel , and a opensource OS system which Cedric gets wrong:

Richard Stallman gets more delusional every day.  In this article where he tries to debunk the SCO/Linux case, he makes his usual revisionist statements, such as:

In 1991, GNU was mostly finished, lacking only a kernel. In 1992, Linus Torvalds made his kernel, Linux, free software. Others combined GNU and Linux to produce the first complete free operating system, GNU/Linux.

Interesting way to rewrite history.  What Stallman was working on was something called Hurd, which was a fully-fledged operating system (including a kernel, despite what he claims).  Stallman also spent a lot of time trying to push technologies that already existed but that he decided to rewrite, in the purest Not Invented Here syndrome (does anyone remember Guile?).

GNU is according to GNU.org is a not Unix operating system consisting of a kernel and other stuff. So while Hurd and Linux are GNU systems, GNU refers to the full generic whole of that definition of full Unix like system. Hurd is part of GNU but is only a kernel not the full GNU like Cedric falsely claims with no facts to back up that point. Note 1984-1991 most of GNU was completed with the exception of the kernel, something Cedric forgot to mention. Second point, based on the definiiotn of GNU both Linus and RMS are right on their naming schemes. The full OS should be calle dGNU while the kernel shoudl be caleld what it is whether itss Linux, Hurd or something else.

The rest of the post dintegrates into more personal attacks without facts. . Cedric please do some error checking of your facts next time, one might come to the conclusion that you seem delusional like Hani.
